Just last month, President Bush made a speech about approving and signing a National Budget of over 2 Trillion, 400 Billion dollars. This sounds like an awful lot of money to someone who has less than twenty bucks in his pocket. Congress took less than an hour to approve this budget. Shucks, it takes me over two hours to get ready for Church. President Bush also proposed and approved the budget for the Veterans Administration Hospitalization Benefits. All veterans will now be charged a $250.00 "user fee" and co-payments for prescription drugs have "increased" by another 90%. President Bush has just saved our country a bunch of money, because over One Million, 200 Thousand Military Veterans will now be "forced out" of the system.
These Military Veterans are our maimed and lame from World War 11, and Korea. Congress just approved 650 Million Dollars for a sparkling new Congressional Welcome Center. Congress also approved their new guaranteed retirement benefits of $15,000.00 per month. Gosh, I’ll bet our Military Veterans could afford this new $250.00 "user fee" for their use of a Veterans Hospital if they received $15,000.00 per month in retirement, and I’ll bet they couldn’t wait to fly first class up to Washington D.C. to visit that brand new Congressional Welcome Center. Ain’t it comforting to know that our President and Congress are using our tax dollars wisely, and not wasting them on our Military Veterans?
